I guess my first post on here should be how I chose the name.
First of all, I wanted it to be broad enough to encompass whatever whim I wanted to write about. Many years ago I had a blog called Purposely Frugal and I mostly blogged about…you guessed it…frugality! But if I wanted to share something from Scripture I would occasionally.
As I’ve toyed with the idea of blogging again, I didn’t really want my focus to be frugality, recipes or small space living, but those might sneak in occasionally (and you’ll see why in a minute).
I wanted to mostly write out my thoughts. Things I’m learning. Things that have helped me in life.
I struggle with abstract ideas. I can sit and listen to a sermon full of “follow as the Spirit leads” and “rest in God’s loving arms”. I get all pumped up about doing just that, only to realize I don’t know what actually doing these things looks like. Is that the Spirit leading or just my feelings? Am I resting in His loving arms or not?
Writing helps me to form my thoughts. It helps me to bring my abstract thoughts and feelings into perspective and maybe give them some hands-on, visible, action steps.
I believe that whatever we do, we should do it for the Lord (Colossians 3:17 & 23), so I might occasionally share a frugal hack or favorite recipe, because those can most certainly be used for good!
So let’s walk this journey together!
