I believe every book we as believers read, must be compared to the truths of Scripture. Any book I recommend does not necessarily mean I agree with 100% of it. All reading we do, should be done with the Bible truths in the forefront of our minds.
The Well-Watered Woman was gifted to me this Christmas. I hadn’t heard of it or the author. The only thing familiar to me was Ruth Chou Simons, who wrote the forward. Previously a friend loaned me their copy of When Strivings Cease (which even though this isn’t a review of that book, I did enjoy it). So I figured if I liked the author who wrote the forward, that was a good sign.
Anyways…I plunged into this book, soaking it up! The illustration of our walk with God being like a plant, runs throughout the book and it gives a beautiful visual and learning aid. I resonated with the personal stories from both the author’s own life and other women’s lives. I greatly appreiated how often right after quoting Scripture, she’d give the backgound and history of the verses. On top of all that, I found her writing style not only easy to follow, but it also had an artistic feel. As you can see in the picture, I used little page markers on favorite parts and plan to refer back to this book.

Have you read The Well-Watered Woman? What aspects stayed with you?
