Elisabeth over at Optimistic Musings had the great idea to do a Finding Joy in Gratitude collective (F.I.G.). I immediately knew I wanted to participate, but with a 2 week trip in February, it got put on the back burner.
Now I’m home and ready to participate for this week! I’ll have to back up and think through each day this last week to highlight something I’m particularly grateful for from that day.
Sunday – We spent the weekend at our good friends’ house. There were many highlights to that short, but sweet stay. My favorite part was sitting in their living room chatting. They’ve gone through some similar things to what our family is now facing. I’m so thankful for both their understanding of how we feel and their sage advice as we face changes.
Monday -Monday was full, but a highlight was seeing the Bible school my husband and I attended and our kids are considering for the future. We also got to briefly meet with another family we hadn’t seen in a while. This whole trip was full of family and friends!
Tuesday – We spent the day at my sisters’. After living overseas, I’ve learned to cherish every moment get with my neices and nephews! I love getting to spend time with them!
Wednesday – Wednesday night was at my husband’s sister’s house. And once again I’m thainkful for neices and nephews. They made me laugh and I love their happy energy!
Thursday – Thursday was a looooong day in the car, ending with a headache. but I’m grateful for the many miles we traveled safely this 2 week trip and making it home!
Friday – My mother-in-law making us chicken potpie an chocolate chip banana bread!
Saturady – An amazing night’s sleep! I feel so much more like myself after that good night of sleep!

I’m glad our kids got to play in the snow on our trip up north!
What are some ways you have found joy in gratitude this week?
