More Than Expected

My little garden project just keeps on inspiring me. As I was watering it, I realized it might need more water that I was anticipating. On one hand, I’m trying to keep our water bill down, on the other, I want my plants to actually live!

I’ve tried saving water when I’m working in the kitchen, like rice rinse water, to put in the garden, and while that’s good and dandy, I don’t think it’s gonna cut it. In this dry desert heat, even if I pile the mulch on, I’m gonna need to water these plants more than I had expected.

That reminded me of my post on saturation, how I need to be saturated in the Words of God. Sometimes I think a little drip of His Word here and there will be enough, but what I really need is a good deep soaking.

Not only that, but I have to water my plants frequently. I can’t flood them once, then just wait until harvest time, at least not out here in Texas! I have to keep watering them. Just like I need to keep watering myself with Biblical truths.

So, thank you little squash seedlings and cucumber sprouts for the reminder that just like you, I need to be watered frequently and deeply.
