June Book Stack

Just like last month, my book “stack” is one single book. I was really hoping to have more read by now. At least the one I did finish was excellent!

Blame It on the Brain? Distinguishing Chemical Imbalances, Brain Disorders, and Disobedience

By Edward T. Welch

My husband was purchasing some books online, and it was one of those deals where if you bought a certain number of books you got another free or something. When he saw the title of this, he got it. And it’sturned out to be an excellent book, the kind I won’t be reselling, but instead saving on our shelf to reread or let others read. The author talks about things like Alzheimer’s disease, ADD, alcoholism, homosexuality, and depression. He discusses the Biblical and scientific aspects behind them. I love the clear, down to earth ways he explains it and thought it was a fascinating read! Would definitely recommend!

The part of the book that hit me personally the most was when he talked about guilt.

“Guilt is an excellent warning light that says something is wrong. Yet when it persists too long, it provides fuel for Satan’s lies and strangulates spiritual growth.” pg. 124

What books did you complete last month? Were the worth the read?

  1. I’m currently reading “Seven Days that Divide the World” for my self and “Half Magic” to the kids.

The book you described sounds really interesting!
