Some things aren’t going my way right now, like our city water went out AGAIN! Another leak! I don’t feel like I’m living in a first world country. But then I remember the flooding and lost lives not far from me, and know that I have much to be thankful for. Today I’m thankful for:
Family living nearby. Most of my life has been lived far from relatives, like States or even a big fat ocean away from them. But right now our in-laws live 20 minutes away. It’s so nice to go for a meal or invite them to our end of the year homeschool celebration!
Air conditioner drip water. Usually my mint enjoys the slow dripping of the AC, but now that city water is off, I put out some containers to collect it for our use.
Good sleep. Last night I didn’t sleep good, but do you know how long it’s been since I’ve had a bad night of sleep? I don’t even know how long, that tells you it’s been awhile! So thankful to be out of that bad-sleep-rut I was in!
Ice-Coffee. I just really enjoy a black ice coffee in a mason jar on a hot day.
A more organized ebay closet. Yesterday I took some time to organize my ebay things. I put items I won’t be listing for awhile, like winter clothes, in a tub, and then the items I want to post soon on another shelf. I was able to take the ever-falling avalanche of boxes and packing materials and stack and nestle them better. Makes me feel good.
My kids. It makes me ache inside when I think about my oldest moving away next year, but I’m so thankful for the time we do still have with her. I’m also thankful to be able to homeschool the kids and spend time with them every single day!
UPDATE: Before posting this, I saw water is back on! Thankful for that! It might be kinda brown, but I can still use it to flush the toilet!
