How I SAved $180 On Homeschool Curriculum

While I’m a tightwad at heart, there’s areas I don’t mind spending a little more, and one of those areas is my kids’ education. We don’t HAVE to have our highschoolers signed up for NARHS, but we feel like in our situation it’s worth it.

Same with curriculum. I could just use free resources for their school, but for us, I feel like it’s worth buying curriculum. That being said, while I don’t mind spending money on it, if I can get the same item cheaper, I’m doing it!

Here’s a breakdown of how I spent $180 less than regular prices:

Alpha & Omega Lifepacs Langauge Arts Grade 10 – Teacher’s guide and 10 books – I spent $92.01, including shipping off ebay. Now, this did not come with In His Steps, a required reading for the course, but I got one on ebay for $4.28 including shipping. So I add that, now my total is 96.29

Right now this set is going for $106.60 on the curriculum website.

Alpha & Omega Lifepacs Language Arts Biology – Teacher’s guide and 10 books. I found this set on ebay for $51.93.

Now I add what I spent on Language arts, the extra book, and biology:

$148.22

When I go to their website and put those in the cart it totals $208.92 (it added taxes but not shipping, maybe there’s free shipping with that amount).

So just by purchasing used on ebay I saved $60.70 on those two subjects.

I want to add that these books I purchased do not have writing in them and they’re in great condition.

I also saved by holding onto the biology DVD my daughter used. My son can now use it.

I saved $20 by posting on facebook about Shormann math. While I rarely post on FB, I decided it was worth it to earn the $20 coupon.

And I saved $100 by signing up for the NARHS early bird special ($50 savings per student).

I still have spent a big chunk of money towards the kids’ schooling this year, but doing these things mentioned above has saved me $180.70.

Last year having 2 log books. 😦
