Coming out of a very busy week, I’ve been contemplating…what goes when I’m busy? What things do I (intentionally, or unintentionally) let slip when my life is hopping?
- Cooking from scratch. I’m trying really hard to not turn to fast food, it’s not economical for my family with teens, nor is it a healthy choice. So instead, I resort to quick meals at home. Things like bread, yogurt, and granola bars get purchased instead of made at home. I tend to turn to quick meals (think a pasta dish instead of homemade pizza).
- Reading. This includes Bible reading and other reading. I’m not saying I proud of it, I’m just being honest. Did you notice I didn’t have a July Book Stack post? That’s because I didn’t finish a single book that month.
- House cleaning. The dishes (thanks kids!), laundry and basic cleaning still gets done, but things start cluttering up a little, and there ain’t no deep cleaning happening.
- Exercise. Last week, I was helping my husband with a job that was pretty physical, so it didn’t bother me that I wasn’t going for evening walks, but sometimes when I’m busy with sitting-type stuff, it’s still easy to drop exercise.
- Blogging. I do this as a hobby. It’s rather therapeutic and helps me think, but because it’s not a necessity, you’ll notice times of infrequent posting.

No matter how busy life gets, Nacho always has time to get plenty of naps in.
When you’re life gets busy, what things are the first to go? Hobbies, exercise, reading, sleep, cooking, cleaning, social engagements, something else?
