Update: After posting my last Frugal Five post, and saying we hadn’t turned on the heater…we turned on the heater! But using the heater should be pretty sporadic for a while yet.
You know how I just emptied my coin jar? Well, I went on a run and found a quarter, dime, and two pennies! Off to a good start for another year of found coins! There was also stray Halloween candies….but I didn’t pick those up.
Saturday we had a fun day. A new thrift store was opening up and advertised free food and a raffle for their grand opening! So we went. The store was in a cool, old building, prices weren’t too bad, and free food’s always good in my book! Afterwards, we went to Goodwill. Then we enjoyed lunch at Dairy Queen. I really like their Jalisco Ranch burgers, so I got one of those and a free Dilly Bar. I had filled out a survey form the last time I ate a Dairy Queen, which earned me a free Dilly Bar. đ
We also stopped at a flea Market and Wal-Mart. At Wal-Mart I purchased some clearance candy corn and candy pumpkins. I now the truely frugal thing to do would’ve been to simply skip the candy altogether, but my family really likes these seasonal treats.
My husband needed to run to one of the bigger towns for work supplies, so I went with him. I took advantage of being by an Aldi. I feel like $110.01 isn’t too shabby for this cart-full, especially considering I got three big packs of chicken and 4 things of ground turkey.

I also feel I should mention, I did not buy a whole box of Hostess cookies, I was just using the box to carry my groceries in. đ
We also bought half price tacos for Taco Tuesday and stopped at 2 Goodwills and Restore.
What frugalness have you been up to?
