This morning I woke up to the news that a certain lady passed away.
As I reflected on how she impacted my life, I think the best way to summarize it is that her (and her husband) always left me so thirsty for God. Conversations almost always ended up being about spiritual things. They seemed to have a real, living love of God. When she talked, she wasn’t the hero of the story, God was. She loved the Word of God deeply.
She had a huge impact on me, and you know what? I wasn’t even around her that much, just a couple years, then I saw her once after that.
And I should mention, she was the main translator of the New Testament in to an African language.
Today, even though the news hit me hard, I’m thankful, I’m thankful for her life, and how she repeatedly pointed me to her awesome God!
