October Book Stack

I seriously should reconsider changing the title of my monthly book “stack” to simply monthly “book”, singular. On top of that, I think I actually finished this one a day or two into November.

I Dare You Not to Bore Me with the Bible

By Michael S. Heiser

Indeed, I wasn’t bored by this book. It’s actually a collection of essays published in Bible Study Magazine. The short chapters (or essays) made it an easy book to be able to pick up and read just a little at a time. It’s chock full of things you may never have thought about…or maybe you did think about, but were too embarrassed to ask. Heiser was always intrigued by the weird and strange parts of the Bible that most tend to skip over. So if you’ve wondered if Mary really was a virgin, giants in the Bible, what about circumcision, is the New Testament misquoting the Old Testament? Then this is a book for you! Heiser said, “if it’s weird, it’s important.”

I’ve listened to quite a bit of Heiser’s teaching and have learned a lot through him. He passed away in 2023.

What did you read last month?
