A Practical Walk

I’m thankful for our little town.

When we were looking to purchase a Stateside house several years ago, we started looking not too far from where my husband is from, but going out to where real estate was cheaper, and landed on this little fixer up house here. We didn’t know anybody in this town at the time. And even after that it took a long time for us to get to know people because most of the time we were in Africa, and were only here for brief periods of time.

But now that we’ve lived here for a full year without moving, I can honestly say we love it. I love that almost every time I go out, I see people I know. I love the small town feel. I love the wide residential roads when I go on walks (there’s not a lot of sidewalks). I love the climate of this region of Texas, and I love the big skies.
