I saw a free wood shelf on fb, so my husband and I drove the few blocks to get it. It’s heavy solid wood and he’s using it in the new workshop/shed.

I’ve been trying to use up some of the foods that have been hanging around the freezer and cupboards a long time. I used a partial jar of coconut oil in granola. I finally cooked the liver in the freezer. I tried a new method of soaking it in milk and then dredging it in flour. My husband has always loved liver and onions. When he was a little kid he’d ask for it at restaurants! I also used some miscellaneous bread pieces in the freezer in an egg casserole. I had a partial box of lasagna noodles. While I love to eat lasagna, I rarely make it. I remembered a lasagna soup from somewhere, maybe my sister’s house? So inspired by that I made a pot of soup and broke and cooked the noodles in it.
Our church had a huge garage sale to raise money for camp. I purchased 2 chairs for the living room. I also purchased 12 items I stuffed in a bag, as they were doing $5 bag sale. My daughter also purchased a bag full for $5.
Now back to the chairs….Our living room isn’t very large, and it shares the space with the dinning table, so we’ve always tried to have smaller furniture in it. However I felt like one more chair would be nice, especially for when we have company. I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled on fb marketplace and thrift stores, but hadn’t found anything that really was what we wanted. Then at the garage sale, there was this pair of matching chairs! They fit the bill! Now that they’re in the living room we moved the wooden chair to our bedroom to replace the white chair in there. The white chair then got sent off to Goodwill. I paid $30 for the set. We ended up removing the back cushins and are using the white throw pillows I recently bought instead.

Okay, that’s enough angles, I think you get the idea!
We keep adding plants to the garden…and purchasing soil…this isn’t very frugal, but maybe in the long run it will be. Since moving my basil outside, it’s been growing like crazy! I used some in a pasta bake. I’ve also been continuing to cook with the green onions that I replanted from the grocery store. And my eggplant seedlings once again all died, so we purchased 2 plants, hopefully they do okay.
And my last frugal thing I had no control over….we had a nice rain!!! This is so good for my plants! Yay for free water!
What have frugalness have you been up to?
