November Gratitude: Day #1

Our House

I’m incredibly thankful for our Stateside house we own and the things in it (although I feel there are too many things in it and am typing this while sitting beside a cardboard box full of things I’m tossing, but that’s beside the point!).

Some specifics I’m especially grateful for:

  • I’m still blown away by the fact that 6 years ago we were able to purchase this house mortgage free. It seemed pretty miraculous, maybe one day I’ll write up a post all about it.
  • I’m thankful for the times we’ve been able to stay here in between our times in Africa.
  • I love my comfortable bed.
  • I love the sun shinging brightly in what we call the “breakfast nook”, but I use as a desk.
  • I love sitting on the front porch and watcing the Texas sunset with the silhouette of our town’s water towers.
  • I love our living room and the hours spent sitting and talking and laughing there with friends and family.

What’s something you’re thankful for today?

  1. How comforting a home can be. I’m thankful to be settled in our current home. God is so gracious.
