November Gratitude Day #28

Today I’m deeply grateful for our co-workers in West Africa. It seemed appropriate to wait until Thanksgiving to share this request as Thanksgiving has become a time I associate with celebrating with them.

Of course in West Africa the fourth Thursday of November isn’t a holiday, so we usually ended up gathering all our co-workers together the following Saturday. Everyone would pitch in with food and we’d meet at someone’s house, ours or another co-worker’s. It was always a special time.

Our teammates have had such a huge impact on our lives. They’ve encouraged us, stood with us in difficult times, prayed with us, hung out with our kids. As I sit here and remember some of the ways they’ve listened to us, reached out to us or just plain laughed with us, I tear up. They have become some of our closest friends. When the body of Christ works together it’s a beautiful thing and I’m just so thankful for them!

  1. It is amazing how God brings those people into our lives, and even though we may not see them, or see them once every few years, they are precious and have had impacts on our lives. I can totally relate to today’s post. Love, Mom
