My life’s a little weird right now. We’re busy. I really like having time to “do around”, like blogging, ebay, gardening, reading, just some thinking space. So this morning, I decided to set a timer for 20 minutes and see how much of a post I could get up. This is miscellaneous, post following my thoughts. You might find it boring and skip over it. Or maybe you like getting inside people’s heads! So here’s just a few of the things swimming around in my mind:
Ebay
I really am so grateful for how well this is going. Having a great lady with experience help me get started, I think has been one of the keys. I can pick it up and work on it when I have time, and simply stop listing things when I don’t have time. In the last 90 days I’ve sold 17 items. Some of my profits are large, some I’m just making a couple bucks. But I also enjoy the work for the most part.
Book Club
My kids have thoroughly enjoyed the homeschool book club! Every Friday they meet, and it’s a great social gather for them. I’m so thankful for these peer relationships! I’m also glad that my kids are reading some classics, that they maybe wouldn’t otherwise have read. And I like the moms that I sometimes get to hang out with if I stick around during or after book club.
My Husband’s Business
He keeps getting more jobs for his handy-man business. That’s one of the factors that’s making us busy now, but it’s a good one, since work is important!
Having people in your life is important.
This is something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately. Isolation isn’t good. When people start making decisions all on their own with no one else’s perspective, it’s dangerous. We might have different kinds of “counselors” in our lives. It might be a parent who gives us financial advice, a friend who lovingly points out a sin, a pastor who encourages, or even a professional counselor. But we all need others. We’re the Body of Christ, and the eye can’t say to the hand, “I don’t need you!”. (1 Corinthians 12:21).
I’m happier when I’m outside.
Whenever I see a gorgeous sunset, a funny bug doing something, a field of wildflowers, I think “If I had just stayed inside, this still would be here, but I would never have seen it.”
I’m trying to spend more time outdoors. I go check on my plants. I sometimes eat lunch on the front porch. The last 2 evenings I’ve sat in the backyard while Bruno sniffs around. Even when the pesky mosquitos start to bug me, I remind myself the worse they can do is make me a little itchy…these ones don’t have malaria to give me!

Look at the column of rain and the sun’s rays! It was even better in real life! This was right before it started hailing on me and I had to run home…first time running in hail!
Well, my 20 minutes is almost up. Thanks for listening to my ramblings and happy weekend!
