I’ve been wanting to write. My mind’s swirling with things to say, but this has been a bonkers busy week!
- We started school this week, and not just the fun field trip from last week, we started our regular school schedule. (Speaking of which, would y’all be interested in a day in the life of a high-school homeschooler type post?).
- My daugther started both of her dual credit classes. I’m so glad this worked out! She’s loving the art class she does at the college! She even went to an optional art club meeting.
- My son did his 2 free trial sessions of Taekwondo. I don’t know quite know how to express how excited he is about continuing this! Let’s just say he went from knowing nothing about it, to it being one of his main topics of conversation!
- This week was also the first day of youth group starting for the school year.
- And it all coincided with a ginormous job my husband had that was on a time crunch. He often hires our kids to help with certain jobs, so this one we all pitched in. It was a big, labor-intensive endeavor. But I’m thankful for work! I’d rather have work, than be sitting around with no job or money.
- Then of course, there were other minor things that added to the complexity: problems with one of my kids’ online drivers’ course, a car issue, you know that stuff that just happens.
I’ve mentioned before that I prefer a simpler schedule to a busy one. But I keep reminding myself that the things we’re going through right now are much better than what we could be going through.
I’d rather be dog-tired at the end of the day because we were working on a job we’ll be getting paid for. This isn’t a concentration camp where the work is being forced upon us.
I’d rather be driving my kids to educational classes they love and are learning from than driving to visit them in a hospital or prison.
Maybe this week I’ll get some of these posts whirling around my head typed out and posted. Happy weekend folks!
