We found some freebies. My husband and I went on a cheap date (gas stations sodas, driving around town and ending up at the park). Anyways…while at the park, we went to throw our drink cups away when we noticed some good stuff in the dumpster. After checking out 2 of the park dumpsters we came home with:
- A mop, I cleaned it out with bleach water.
- 2 buckets that looked barely used (also cleaned these).
- A rake
- 2 large metal bowls (cleaned thourougly)
This is actually the second time we found nice stuff at the park. Another time we got a leaf blower. Apparently someone is tossing their stuff there instead of taking it to a donation center.
We did some organizing and decluttering which resulted in:
- Some items to donate to Goodwill, and I’ll get a 20% off one item coupon in return.
- A mirror I listed for sale on FB.
- A pair of shoes I’ll either sell on ebay or if it’s not worth it, donate.
I got a $3 Amazon gift card from Fetch Rewards. I just put the gift card on our Amazon account to go towards our next purchase.
I replanted some green onion bottoms. I’ve had good success with these. And when I sprinkle chopped green onions on a dish it makes it instantly feel fancy.
Friday night we watched a movie borrowed from the library. We get so much use out of our little local library!

What have you done to save a buck or two lately?
