November Gratitude #7

Today I’m grateful for a special gift that I received quite unexpectedly.

In West Africa we had some deep friendships and we connected well from our similar lifestyles (as mentioned in my last post). Because of that, when we moved back to the US, I didn’t really have high expectations of having deep friendships with people here.

Fast forward a year and I’m amazed at the many pockets of women that I see on a regular basis and look forward to seeing at that!

I’ve grown so fond of the ladies I’m in Bible study with and it’s a highlight of my week!

At church there’s ladies I’m getting to know better and appreciate the ways they make me feel included.

I’m thankful for how the homeschool group has pulled us in and enjoy any time I get to chat with those families.

I did not expect to have this many growing friendships one year into this. I’m blown away by all the people God has allowed into my (and my families’) life!

What are you thankful for today?

  1. I’m thankful for quiet. I get overstimulated easily. My husband is away all week and the kids were off school yesterday and I was feeling very…overstimulated!

Right now I’m taking a break from housework. The Christmas tree is up (early, I know, but my daughter was desperate and now that it’s up it’s one less thing to do in the crazy lead-up to Christmas). It’s so cozy looking at the twinkle lights, and I’m enjoying the quiet house. I vacuumed the floors and I’m going to do some other chores and catch up on blogging work, but the silence is GOLDEN to me right now.
