March Recap

You know…I went to go type my low lights for the month and nothing came to mind immediately…I guess March wasn’t too bad of a month! If you compare to January and February, we had less sickness and no deaths this month, so I guess it was pretty good! Of course, there’s always the non-bloggable things, but overall it wasn’t a bad month.

Lowlights

  • I guess for my low-light I’ll put that we’ve just been busy. My daughter’s working plenty of hours, my husband’s working often 6 days a week, and life is simply busy. But we try really hard to do very little work on Sundays, and it’s great! We go to church, come home and eat a made-ahead meal (usually pasta salad or soup), then I nap, or blog, or read, or watch some youtube.

An after picture of one of the places my husband fixed up, sorry, I don’t have a before photo.

Highlights

  • My headaches have been so much better this month! We’re wondering if a trigger is bright light. I noticed often I’d get a migraine the day after a run, usually running with the setting sun shining into my eyes. I got a better pair of sunglasses, that wrap around my eyes better and are darker. That seems to help. And I’m doing very little running for a while to see if I notice a change.
  • My ebay sales sky-rocketed in comparison to last month. The main change I made was using paid promotions again.
  • We got the shed to a useable state and my husband is over the moon about having his tools and supplies better organized.
  • Lots of gardening happened in the month of March! I’ve started cantaloupe, gardeners delight tomatoes, yellow pear tomatoes, mortgage lifter tomatoes, serrano peppers, some other peppers I can’t remember, lemongrass, eggplant (very few are still alive, I was unsuccessful with them last year), bissap as we call it in West Africa (Roselle Hibiscus), marigolds, pumpkins, zucchini squash, and probably some others I’m forgetting.
  • We’ve been thoroughly enjoying our back yard. It’s our second living room. We’ve sat out around the fire as a family at night…it’s like camping, only we don’t’ have to set up a tent! Sometimes I eat my lunch out by the garden…it’s just been really nice. And since we don’t have a particularly big house, the yard helps make hosting easier. We hosted our first Teen Tuesday, and had a hotdog roast around the fire.

We had our first dandelion in the yard this month! You know I love dandelions!

What were some lowlights and highlights of your month?

  1. What a garden -I hope everything grows well! I can’t grow anything so I just admire the works of others.

That kitchen looks great! However, I don’t understand the one cabinet on the far wall – sticking out over nothing? It looks like something belongs underneath it. I’d be hitting my head on it if I were there.

HIghlight – my sister giving us a car for my adult son to use. Low light – having to spend a lot after a few lower spend months. But kids need clothes, and the thrift store don’t have much in the way of teen boy stuff. (Except jeans, which my teens don’t wear.)

    Have a Blessed Easter Weekend!

    1. Wow a car is great! I hear you on the thrift store, they have way more women’s clothes than men’s and it’s hard for my son to find the right size of pants at them.
