Frugal Five – Free Mulch

We were running out of printer paper, so I asked my husband to pick some up for me. When his mom heard that she said she had paper she didn’t use and gave it to us. So we got some free printer paper!

Our homeschool group did some yard work for a widow. She wanted a bunch of leaves hauled off…so we happily hauled the leaves to our house to use as free mulch! She was happy, we were happy!

Also at her house she had a ground cover plant that had grown further than she wanted. So we helped to pull it out where it wasn’t wanted. It seemed to thrive in the shade, so we brought some home to try to plant under our fruitless mulberry tree. So far it’s surviving!

As to be expected when living in a dry climate, we frequently water our garden. As we were discussing our water usage, we remembered our RO system for drinking water. While it makes our water delicious to drink, it also dumps water in the process. Don’t ask me how the process works, I just know it dumps some of the water. So we started occasionally putting the little drain tube into a container to reuse this water in the garden.

My daughter had a very favorite pair of jeans, but then they got a big hole in the derriere region making them unwearable. I think they just got too thread bare from use. But I looked the style, brand, and size up on ebay and found a few pairs. She ordered one and should get them this week! I’ve talked before about how ebay can be a great way to get a specific item, especially if it’s been discontinued.
