Wow…April is already done??? How did that happen? As is my new habit, here’s my monthly recap with lowlights and highlights.
Lowlights
- A difficult thing this month has been seeing others going through difficulties. Some of these people we know well, others we barely know. It can be challenging knowing how and when to help people.
- I went to the doctor’s office twice in two days, but neither time was for me. One kid had a sinus infection that wasn’t going away, and the other kid needed some bloodwork done. Thankfully neither of these were serious, life-threatening issues. And very thankful for how quickly we were able to get in.
Highlights
- Even though I’m not listing daily anymore, my ebay sales haven’t been too shabby. I think it’s because I’m promoting anything that’s been listed longer than a month and also reducing the price on items that have been up a long time.
- A lady from church invited me to garden club! I got to see some folks I already knew, and meet some new ones! I’m seriously considering joining the club. It could be a great social outlet and I can learn from these other local gardeners. It made me feel very special that she brought me along.
- I got to meet an author at an event the library held. More on that when I finish her book though.
- My mother-in-law and daughter joined me for a ladies’ event at church. My daughter worked that day and had to leave early though. It was a time of great food, comedy, singing, hearing from God’s Word and hearing testimonies of answered prayers.
- A garden highlight was spotting my first tomato flower of the year!
- Teen Tuesday has been a success. It’s a small, but sweet group. We had a hotdog roasting fire one night, a game night, picnic and disc golf at the park and yard work for a widow.
- We went to homeschool prom. The kids looked lovely, the steak was amazing, and it was an overall good time.
- April held two special proud parent moments, one for each child. My son moved up to yellow belt in Taekwondo! His dojang goes from orange to yellow. My proudest moment was when the grand master said to him, “You practice at home don’t you?” The work my son’s been putting into it, even outside of class showed.

- The college where my daughter’s taking art held an art show and she had 4 pieces on display, you can see 2 below. She’s been drawing almost daily for several years now and her artwork has grown leaps and bounds! It’s fun to see her blossoming in this area and how much pleasure she gets from it.

I have a picture with the artist too, but since I don’t typically post my kids’ faces on the blog you just get me.
Parenting has it’s tough moments, but there’s also those sweet ones. I’m soaking up these special times with my kids….they may be both taller than me, and one about to turn 18, but they’re still my kids and one of the biggest treasures I’ve ever been given!
