Thankful Post – Rain & Rainbows

Difficult things happen….but I still must intentionally march on with gratitude or else my mind goes only to the challenges….and then usually all the imaginary what ifs. So here we go…

  • Even though I woke up to our city water being out (apparently there’s a leak) I’m thankful it happened the morning after we got lots of rain, so I’m not at all concerned about my plants drying out. And we have some water stored up for ourselves, so I’m not too concerned about that either. (UPDATE: While working on this post, it started raining again! So I’m collecting even more rain water, in case this water cut lasts awhile.)
  • I got to help my husband with a job. He removed an old cast iron tub and replaced it with a shower and tile on the walls and floor. I enjoyed working with him and learning how to butter tiles…apparently it’s actually called that, buttering the tiles. I’d much prefer to butter than to be the one to make sure they’re on there straight! There’s definitely ups and downs to having your own business, but getting to spend time with my husband on the jobsite is a perk.
  • Coffee….I really do love getting to enjoy this every single day.
  • Slow, but steady ebay sales.
  • Rainbows
  • Flowers
  • Gardening…to use Kon Marie’s wording “It sparks joy!”

What are you grateful for today?

  1. I’m on a train alone with my tween and it’s delightful. Beautiful views of the British countryside, we enjoyed a delicious latte while waiting for the train to arrive, and a bit of down time (I’m discovering I prefer train travel to plane travel!).

I’m grateful for more sleep lately, especially the nap I fit in earlier in the week. My first in over a month and it was incredible!!!

    1. I’ve been to Britain twice to visit my brother-in-law, then to attend his wedding. It’s beautiful there! Your pictures of all your travels have been fun to see!
