Frugal Five – Squash Recipes Please!

I earned enough fetch rewards for another $3 Amazon giftcard. This isn’t going to turn us into millionaires or anything, but it’ll make our next Amazon order $3 cheaper.

Even though I’m the ebay seller, sometimes my husband finds things for me to sell. He picked up this Disney cats frame and it sold in 15 days for $24.99, that’s the kind of quick sale I like!

At a potluck, I tried a squash casserole someone had made (they picked the squash from their garden). I was inspired as my squash grows faster than a teen age boy (and I have a teen boy, so I know how fast they grow). I used this recipe (but added some deli meat for more protein and breadcrumbs in place of crackers. It’s winner and will be featured more this summer as more squash comes in!

I had almost finished my salad the other day, when I realized it was all homegrown! The kale and tomato had come from my mother-in-law’s garden and the zucchini from mine! Only the ranch dressing wasn’t homegrown! 🙂

I’ve been saving marigold seeds, just the way my mom showed me when I was a kid! 🙂 Today I took a bunch that had dried out and pulled the seeds out of the flowers and put them in a jar, I shouldn’t need to buy more marigold seeds!

Do you have a favorite way to use yellow summer squash??? Or zucchini squash for that matter, both are coming in right now.
