Frugal Four – New Couch!

We bought a new-to-us couch. As you may recall our beloved couch’s upholstery has been wearing away. We have loved this couch. The size is perfect for our living room, it’s comfy, we’ve even used the pull out bed on multiple occasions. We’ve been keeping our eyes out for another one that fits the bill of what we want. Sometimes doing this takes awhile, but you end up finding something you love. Like the living room chairs, I’ve been super pleased with them! Sometimes you find very close to what you want, so you just make do with that. That’s what happened with our new couch. My husband found it for $48 (with discount) at Goodwill. It isn’t exactly the colors we would’ve chosen, it’s a little bigger than we’d like. But the fabric was in excellent condition. No smells, no signs of animals using it as their bed. It might be grandma-looking, but you know, our house already kinda has grandma vibes. The good thing about having eclectic decor, is you can add anything to it! So as we considered it, all we had to loose was $48 plus extra gas to go pick it up. If we later find a better couch, we haven’t sunk hundreds into it.

The previous couch….which was also thrifted.

The new couch, I’ll probably play around with blankets and pillows to see what we like best.

This is before we scored our new chairs or the new couch!

And to make it even better, we found someone who could use our old couch…so it’s still getting used!

Okay…that was my long couch story! haha

When we went to go pick up the couch, I perused the isles and purchased multiple items, including some clothes and magnetic notepad. I really like these for hanging on the fridge where I can have a running grocery list.

I harvested an eggplant, yellow summer squash, cucumbers, purple onions, cherry tomatoes, and a few snacking peppers. Plus lots of marigold seeds.

I put a bucket out to collect AC drip water. I also saved rice rinse water. Even though we still use tons of water for our garden, this helps a little.
