June has felt like summer in multiple ways! We haven’t been doing schoolwork, it’s been as hot as smoldering lava, and all the summer activities are a buzz. Like all months, there were highlights and lowlights.
Lowlights
Probably the hardest thing this month was a situation where my daughter was working. It continued and got bad enough we recommended she leave. It was a good job in a lot of ways: she learned a lot, she pushed through multiple difficult scenarios, and she gained experience. As a parent it’s hard to see our kids go through difficulties, we just wish we were able to shield them from it all.
Highlights
Biggest highlight, hands down was helping with our church’s Vacation Bible School! I already talked about some of my sentiments of it here, but seeing kids hearing God’s story is just incredible!

In the garden we’re getting lots of okra! And the watermelons are swelling up nice and big! I’m still finding the garden a wonderful place to unwind and reset! Apparently someone else is too….

Another highlight has been getting back into Bible study with a great group of ladies. I’m so thankful for the camaraderie I feel when with them.
How was your June? Did you get the heat wave where you live?
