August Book Stack

Guess what? After 2 months of not finishing anybooks…I finally have a bookstack post for you!!

When You Pray – A Study of Six Prayers in the Bible

By Kelly Minter, Jackie Hill Perry, Jen Wilkin, Jennifer Rothschild, Jada Edwards, Kristi Mclelland

Over the summer a group of ladies went through this book. Unfortunately due to traveling, headaches, and such I missed multiple Bible studies, but still read through the book. Each section was written by a different lady. I don’t think I’ve previously read anything by any of the 6 authors.

Section 5 on prayers of lament reminded me a lot of the book Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy by Mark Vroegop, which I recommend…hmm, maybe that one deserves a re-read.

Sleep Well Again – Fall Asleep Quickly, Stay Asleep Longer, Wake Up Refreshed

By Lisa Morrone, P.T.

I happened upon this book at the Habitat for Humanity Restore, where their books are listed at a mere $1. And what a great $1 spent that ended up being! I totally loved this book, as someone who has had bouts of sleeping trouble myself, and witnessed family members with sleeping troubles.

Not only is it full of great information, but Morrone does a great job of making it simple and very practical. I only have one complaint about the whole book, she doesn’t recommend sleeping on your stomach…which is my preferred position. I’m trying to sleep less on my stomach, but it’s just so comfy!

I saw that she has other books including one about headaches, which of course piqued my interest, so I hopped on ebay, ordered it, and am in the midst of reading it right now….look for it in a future book stack post!

What have you read recently? Would you recommend it?
