A Practical Walk

I found not one, but two quarters while out walking the other day!!! Usually I find pennies, but a quarter is like finding 25 pennies, and finding two quarters is like finding 50 pennies! (Yes, that was some pretty good math skills).

I wanted to make some cookies (something I rarely do much to the chagrin of my family) and I remembered a recipe that a friend had where she would mix and match ingredients. Since I had lots of miscellaneous things (raisins, chocolate chips and coconut flakes) I asked her for the recipe, here’s the link she gave me. She said she sticks with the recipe until the oats, then she tosses in whatever she has.

We’re still getting some produce from the garden, although the okras are coming in fewer and fewer, and I think at least on okra plant is now dead.

And we’ll save the biggest for last. My daughter bought a car! Her dad went with her to look at it, and it has been a perfect fit for her! Low mileage, good gas mileage as it’s small and I’m just so happy for her! We’ve always bought cars used as it’s just so much cheaper. I was proud of her when I went down with her to the title office and she got it put into her name. (Edit: I forgot to say, she paid cash for this big purchase using a combination of money she earned herself and money we’ve been putting aside for our kids ever since they were little).
