Thankful Post

Not only was this a busy week, and there’s a full weekend ahead, but there’s been some heavy things going on. We aren’t directly involved with all of the difficulties, but even being on the outskirts can be discouraging. So what better time to do a thankful post!

I’m thankful that I learned a new thing that I thought I could never do. My husband taught me how to cut in paint without using painter’s tape! I’m still not super at it, but I can do it better than I thought I could. I guess it’s not really a talent, but more a learned technique coupled with practice. As I’ve been helping paint a rental house, not having to line every window, door frame, and baseboard with painter’s tape has been a huge time saver!

I’m thankful for a particular lady who has befriended me. She’s the one who invited me to garden club a few months back. Yesterday I had been so busy and on top of that was discouraged by some happenings that I was thinking I’d skip garden club. That is until she texted and asked if she could pick me up and take me. I’m glad I ended up going, it got my mind of some of the heavy things, I was able to talk to her about some off the things on my mind and I came home with a new plant!

I’m thankful for a surprise sweet potato! I mean, I knew there were sweet potatoes down under all that foliage, but I was taken back by the ginormousness of it! It felt like a little burst of happiness after a draining week.

I’m thankful for my husband. While many things in life go up and down and sideways, he’s been a steady and stable part of my life. I know not everyone enjoys that in their spouse, and I don’t want to overlook the blessing it is.

Nacho is thankful for my pepper patch. On multiple occasions, I’ve found him relaxing under the shade of the pepper plants.

How was your week? What are you thankful for even in the hard weeks?
