Frugal Five – Mostly Thrifting

My mother-in-law gave me a big bouquet of kale from her garden. I love the sharing that goes on with gardening!

We made a day trip to the larger town and combined a bunch of errands. My husband picked up some orders from Home Depot, my daughter used an Ulta Beauty giftcard she got at graduation, my husband found a used mower and weed eater, and we purchased 3 plants!

On top of that I made several purchases from Goodwill for resell:

And a few items for me personally:

  • 2 pillows to try on our new couch
  • a t-shirt
  • a large glass jar – these are handy for storing beans and flour in.
  • and maybe more, but that’s all I can remember at the moment.

Since we just bought another mower, I listed the old one “as is” on fb, and it was sold that same day. Mower out, $20 in my pocket.

In the garden I’m getting lots of okras, and herbs, but I need to start actually using these herbs more. And there’s been some cherry tomatoes, snacking peppers and cucumbers here and there.
