A Practical Walk

Hello August!!! Today I’ve thought through some of the lowlights and highlights from July.

Lowlights

Alas, a second month has gone by and I have no bookstack post for you. This is month number two that I haven’t finished a book. I’m reading some…just haven’t finished them yet…maybe next month!

Highlights

Ebay was much more positive this month than last! Last month I ended up $14 in the negative, partly because of that lamp I refunded. I think I’m getting better at picking out things that will sell for more profit and being okay with leaving the other things behind. My single biggest money maker this month was that Sears Merry Mushroom set, and the runner up was a chain.

Of course one of the biggest highlights was camping with family! Ever since living overseas, I’m quicker to appreciate any time I get with them, and doing it in a camping setting makes it even more special!

We’re finally reaping the fruit of our labor in the garden. Up until now we’ve mostly been reaping the vegetables of our labor! Ahaha! Today I was cutting back sweet potato leaves because they’re trying to take over the place, and I found a beautiful canteloupe that looked ready for picking! Finding a ripe fruit you didn’t even know was growing is such a great surprise! We’ve also picked 2 watermelons! The okra is still going strong, as well as the cowpeas. The tomatoes still aren’t producing too much.

My daughter found another job, it’s very part time, but a much better situation than where she was previously. She’s also started a little side gig of selling handmade cards.

I’m thankful for my kids’ friends. Just this week my son was invited to go to a movie with a friend. And today my daughter went out with a friend shopping and then they ended up getting a meal too. It makes my mama heart happy.

I’m thankful for my little family of four. We got to spend time together on our trip to Tennessee for camping and more recently we went and watched a movie together. It’s been a long time since we all went to the theater together and it was a nice outing.

One last highlight: a migraine medication that’s working wonderfully! So thankful!
